Adobe InDesign is the future of professional publishing and the perfect solution for all print publishers. With InDesign you get unparalleled precision and control, outstanding text handling, and seamless integration with Adobe's other professional graphics applications: Illustrator, Photoshop, and even Acrobat. Whether you are a graphic designer developing clients' advertising and marketing pieces or a publisher creating books or manuals, you will find InDesign intuitive and flexible.

MacTraining's 3 day InDesign for Professionals topics include

  • Working with Typography; vertical spacing, multiple ways to change fonts, sizes, etc, drop caps and initial caps, letter and word spacing, paragraph alignment, setting tabs (important), rules....
  • Transparency; colorizing a greyscale image and its frame, applying transparency setting for InDesign and for EPS files, adjusting transparency and blending modes of placed images and text, effects....*

Maybe it'll show up on a test sometime in the future!), adding and removing pages with emphasis on double sided (facing) paged documents, overriding master page items on document pages....
  • Long Documents; building Tables of Contents for the whole document and/or individual chapters, indexing (yes, actually creating an index), cross-references, footnotes, running footer, synchonizing a book....*
  • Output and exporting; preflighting and packaging, creating a proof, previewing separations, seeing how transparency will be flattened, previewing the page
